Estremo
The long-term experience of racing teams in professional cycling, assisted by the Podium Research and Development department’s technology, has enabled the Podium company to create a frame that expresses its full technical potential through professional use. The convergence of interest between professional and amateur cyclists has convinced the company management to invest further resources in the “Estremo Project”: the resultant gains in technical and stylistic elements have consolidated this frame as a leader at international level. Completely manufactured in Italy, Estremo is a T300/3K High Modulus and T700 unidirectional carbon fibre frame, strategically reinforced thanks to the rational application of Carbon-Titanium-Vectran weave in areas of the frame most subject to mechanical stress, and with Kevlar fibre in areas where the accessories are grafted to the frame. The tubing assembly operation takes place inside the Podium workshop in an aseptic department where the Hi-Tech meets the experience of trained technicians who use a hand-crafted binding technique known as “Laminated Carbon”. The frame takes shape on the basis of anthropometric body measurements, obtained manually and successively
developed electronically with the aid of personalized software. Computer analysis of the vibration spectrum of the finished product in test-bed conditions confirms what repeated road-tests have indicated: a sensation of complete control of the medium, even in the most extreme conditions.
