Dedicated to the professional cyclist or even to the keen amateur in search of a race frame with a similar “feel” to a carbon fibre bike, Ulisse is a high-end frame completely made in Italy with Aluminium-Scandium alloy, where the carbon rear-end plays a double role by providing elegant aesthetic detail as well as a functional component. The tube sections reveal different thicknesses despite triple-butting of the “Scandium” SC700 aluminium alloy, because the quantity used is analytically optimised in identified areas to reduce the total weight of
the structure, without however compromising stability and the physical characteristics of the metal skeleton. Molecularly speaking, scandium combined with aluminium increases resistance, prevents aging and enhances the resistance to stress by reducing drastically the number and significance of cracks caused by solidification that can appear in highly resistant alloys. This combination also improves the ductility of the alloy, fundamental for manufacturing frames on size.
The complete carbon rear-end in shaped composite RC2 material, inherited from the Estremo, follows the traditional lines of metallic Oversize tubing, further proclaiming the natural reactivity and rigidity of the frame.
