Who is Luciano Bracchi?Brescian by origin, and a racer in the late sixties, Luciano Bracchi raced as a professional cyclist in the legendary Inoxpran team in 1979 and in 1980 with team-mates such as Giovanni Battaglin, Bruno Leali and Alfredo Chinetti. In 1978 he won the first edition of the Italian Amateur Championship on road. Soon, however despite this result, he decided to dedicate his time to what had become his primary interest: giving rein to his natural aptitude for making road-bike components. He thus became the trusty mechanic of the Inoxpran team with Carrera, followed by a spell as mechanic for the Italian National Cycling team, guided by the great Alfredo Martini. Beginning from personal experience gained when racing as a professional cyclist, enriched by years of research and study as a “Know-How” technician, he succeeded in making a significant contribution to the success of various teams in important competitions. From this role of expert mechanic, Bracchi then proceeded to become an admired frame maker and in 1989, together with Davide Boifava, gave form to the Podium project where he was revealed as Head of Production. At Podium Bracchi explored his long-term experience and his keen specialization, designing and producing bicycles that carry the Carrera team to victory (a team that has made history by leaving a mark in terms of organisation and image in world cycling), producing new champions such as Chiappucci and Pantani, to name those most appreciated by the general public. Bracchi specialises in creating bicycles adapted perfectly to the physical and technical characteristics of professional racers, and contributing, thanks to excellent technical standards, to reaching extraordinary successes. Currently working in the company labs in Calcinato, he is responsible for the Projects and Development, committed alongside the rest of the Podium team to the continuing development of new models and designs. |
